How did Mesopotamians Get Power?

The Mesopotamian invention that showed the most power was the wheel. The wheel was powerful because it affected their life. The Sumerians could not imagine life without the wheel, so they invented one. For example, because of the wheel invention we have cars, trucks, and buses. The wheel helped other things like carts and wagons. With the invention of the wheel, they helped us move around because we have buses.

Levees and irrigation systems show power over the natural world by controlling water and land. Mesopotamians built levees to control the water with irrigation systems. If they did not build the levees the water would flood the land. They built levees so their land wouldn’t be destroyed. I think people from our past times build levees so they could survive. Now we don’t build levees we build bridges. The levees helped them control the water. The irrigation systems helped them to take water to other places, so it could reach their land. This shows power because they are controlling how water moves.
