The power of Hammurabi
Hammurabi was the greatest ruler in Mesopotamia. Hammurabi had 282 hundred laws in Mesopotamia. Hammurabi will have consequences to the person that injured the other person body. Hammurabi will send the person in the court and he has to cut part of the body and that person has to pay a fine. Hammurabi has destroyed and conquered lots of city states and he became a new king or ruler. He was so powerful and had lots of chaos. Hammurabi won lots of battles in Mesopotamia. Hammurabi had changed Mesopotamia more different. They had levees that were use for the water to go other places. Hammurabi had lots of justice. Hammurabi was a ruler he conquered city states. He has changed. He had kidnapped a king of city states. He has won many battles. He had a nickname Kinpphine that’s why he has been the greatest ruler long time ago. And Hammurabi was not a fair ruler all the times because he would not give people another chance. He would command his slaves to do all his work.

How did Mesopotamians Get Power?
The Mesopotamian invention that showed the most power was the wheel. The wheel was powerful because it affected their life. The Sumerians could not imagine life without the wheel, so they invented one. For example, because of the wheel invention we have cars, trucks, and buses. The wheel helped other things like carts and wagons. With the invention of the wheel, they helped us move around because we have buses.
Levees and irrigation systems show power over the natural world by controlling water and land. Mesopotamians built levees to control the water with irrigation systems. If they did not build the levees the water would flood the land. They built levees so their land wouldn’t be destroyed. I think people from our past times build levees so they could survive. Now we don’t build levees we build bridges. The levees helped them control the water. The irrigation systems helped them to take water to other places, so it could reach their land. This shows power because they are controlling how water moves.

The Death of Humbaba
The story of Gilgamesh takes place in the city of Uruk in Mesopotamia. The story involves king Gilgamesh, Enkidu, and Humbaba. In the beginning, Gilgamesh and Enkidu take and adventure to the Cedar forest to get some wood. Then when Gilgamesh and Enkidu are walking through the forest they see Humbaba the demon. Humbaba says you cant come in. In the end, the two friends decide to fight. With the help of the god and the greatest winds they trapped the demon. Then, Gilgamesh cut Humbabas head. They got logs and take it to their city.
The message of the story is good wins evil. I choose this because good will always win evil. Also, in the story Gilgamesh wins Humbaba. Gilgamesh is good and Humbaba is evil. Gilgamesh got his sword and cut the demonds head. Another reason is because good will always beat evil. Gilgamesh was a good person.
I believe Gilgamesh is a hero because he destroyed Humbaba. Also, he brought wood to make doors back to his city. In addition, he got a sword and cut the demons head. Finally, he made a boat and put logs and returned to his city. In my opinion, Gilgamesh is a hero.
